ABOUT US

Demeter Capital was founded in September 2016 by agribusiness entrepreneurs, investment bankers, consultants, and investors with the desire to boost the Agribusiness sector in Mexico and generate social and economic impact.

The team has all the technical and operational knowledge to develop and accelerate the companies in which it invests and always seeks to generate efficiencies through the implementation of technologies, operational efficiencies, and marketing to improve the profitability of the target companies.

OPPORTUNITY

Mexico is the eleventh country in the world in production of food, agricultural crops and primary livestock, since it has more than 24 million hectares for agriculture, 110 million hectares for livestock and 120 thousand hectares for aquaculture.

Mexico has 12 Free Trade Agreements with 45 countries with a potential market of 1.48 billion people and exports represent 1.4% of total value of world exports of agricultural, livestock and fishing origin.

The sector represents a great opportunity to develop corporate governance and institutionalization, which allows enormous development for the companies involved in these activities. Despite all these opportunities, private capital in Mexico invests less than 0.5% of capital in the agribusiness sector, making it the last place in private capital allocation in the country.
